Faces in the Crowd

Street photography is one of the reasons why I got interested in photography. Whenever I see works in exhibits, I feel wanting to do it. I am trying to ponder what was the thought process of the photographer when they made the composition and created the image. Especially when people faces are involved, detailed expressions are displayed. The story, the message, can be received as well. However, while browsing thru my saved photos for this week’s challenge, I have realized I tend to do it with less people on it, at least composition-wise. Hence, I only have few good selection.

In any case, here are those…

Took a quick snap of these 3 guys having fun with the bungee jump-like attraction. Arms locked tight together. Wondering who’s idea was this. But I believe they surely enjoy that moment. I supposed several years in the future people might be wondering why they were wearing mask for this attraction.

The pigeon and the fisherman. How many fishes were caught? Perhaps the pigeon knew. Fisherman’s face could tell the story. Taken in Beppu, Oita.

Summer in Japan is still too much for me considering I should be used to warm weather in Philippines. I guess humidity and urbanization is quite extreme here in Japan. Taken in the streets of Sangenjaya, Setagaya.

Just a scene in Ginza during weekends. I made this photo as I heard the monk praying and saw him as a good contrast to what was happening around. Ginza is a top shopping district in Tokyo. Every Sunday, the main street is open to pedestrians and car routes are detour. Thus, it feels like you’re in a big shopping mall. Various scenes can be observed around.

Thanks to John for hosting this challenge. From this, I learned that my trigger when creating an image with crowd is, I tend to look for contrast or a story with the environment. I think I can focus on those 2 themes the next time I am out in the street.
